Physical Therapy Orthopaedic Residency Credentialed

The Program in Physical Therapy at LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport, received notification on December 18, 2008 that its Post-professional Physical Therapy Orthopaedic Residency program was credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association.  The program, headed by Dr. Sharon Dunn, PT, OCS, received a glowing report from the residency evaluation team and the credentialing committee.  The first resident to complete the program was Dr. Lisanne Meiners who is a graduate of the Shreveport Physical Therapy program.

In addition to the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy residency, the program recently instituted a post-professional residency in Wound Management which is in the process of completing the credentialing paperwork and hopes to gain accreditation in 2009.  This is the first Physical Therapy Wound Management Residency in the country.
